History

The village was first opened in July 1999. During the past 5 years the village has been ongoing in its development and continuation of improvement.

The result is the village now comprises of a 46 bed Continuing Care Wing all single room with ensuite facilities, 33 Rest Home beds all single rooms with ensuites facilities,35 Studio and Apartment Units with a range of sizes to suit the individuals,5 independent Villas.

Staff

The Wood is owned and operated by Andrena and Ron Willams. Their aim is to create a positive aging experience for residents and their families. They have both had extensive experience delivering care to the elderly, including over 15 years working with retirement villages. With The Wood, Andrena and Ron have combined all their knowledge and experience to deliver the highest possible standard of care.

The Management Team are supported by a wonderful group of people working in the various areas of the Village. It would not be possible to deliver the service that The Wood prides itself on, without their dedication and commitment. The Care Givers / Registered Nurses / Chef & Kitchen staff / Cleaners / Laundry Staff / Activities Therapists / Maintenance / Allied Professionals / Administration / Volunteers / and the Families themselves, all contribute to the quality of The Wood's service delivery to the residents, while maintaining the philosophy that, "Whilst working at The Wood we are in the Residents Home."
